If God exists, why did he make me an atheist? Thats His first mistake.

That is perhaps the most pathetic thing I have ever read.  That anyone would have their life so wrapped up in a celebrity that they would kill themselves over his demise is a sad commentary on our society.

Now if they just figure out a way for some of those "Twilight" fanatics to follow the leader....

Yeah, I'm not very nice.  Sorry.

I'll echo Indiana... that's pathetic.

I mean Billy Mays died and I'm not all suicidal over it.

Now, that is messed up.  I don't think even ELVIS had fans who committed suicide for him, and they have him on stained glass pictures for crying out loud.

And to top it off, the fans were from Australia.  I thought most Aussies were made of sterner stuff.

I like to think of it as evolution in progress.
It's good that they're doing humanity a favour by removing themselves from the gene pool.

Sad to hear it. I wish everyone else on here would stop calling these people "sad". Err, remember the "suicide" thread a while back? Seems a lot of contradiction is floating round....

I grew up with Michael Jackson, to me he's massive, a true icon. His death has to be about the most shocking celebrity death I have known in my lifetime and I didn't think I would hear this kind of news for another 20-30 years. The world has lost a music giant and a good person, whose cultural influence will never be matched.

No, not because he hasn't done anything worth listening to for 20 years.

I dunno, there's some worthwhile tracks on Invincible (2001), HIStory and Blood on the Dance Floor (1997).

But yeah...  Killing yourself over a celebrity is rather ridiculous.
