Mr. DS

I do a section of my site/now blog called DarkSider Dementia where I spout off on things other than movies.  I try to keep it light hearted and not like many blogs where its someone rattling on about their failures in life.

So far you've only got the one op-en piece about 80s game shows (never cared for game shows) and that's look like a long read.  My eyes get tired when by brain even thinks about reading that page.  Okay, sure, I suppose some of us my like to read about jiggly females jumping about as that paints a certain picture but, honestly, it's just game shows.  There's never been a decent one. . . well, okay. . . Maybe the Hollywood Squares but that's it!

The Gong Show was worth the watch, too.

I have a blog on my B-Movie site, but since it is currently on hiatus, the blog hasn't been updated too regularly.

This year I've managed to achieve some small success at writing horror fiction under a pseudonym and maintain a blog for that "career."

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

To blog (verb):  to write stuff on the internet that you think people read, that actually, no one reads...

Sorry, it had to be said.  Unless you're William Gibson or something, no one reads your blog.

Before the visitor counter on my Y360 blog broke it was registering 200,000+ visits.  Of course I suppose that could have just been bots.  Yahoo didn't allow for anonymous commenting so the comments were few and far between.  Not much better with my blogger blogs.  Alas Blogger, for some odd reason, has no native visitor counter widget.  So I've no clue how many people and/or bots may have visited it, much less read it.  Then again much the same could be said for certain low circulation print 'zines.

OTOH I've had to recently fill out one of those DMCA forms to report content theft.  So if no one is reading my blog why would anyone (man or bot) steal it's content?

I think that Zap's definition is correct for the diary/personal reflection type blogs.  Close friends and family might read it, but no one else.  On the other hand, when you have a high-content blog devoted to a single consistent theme, be it B-movies or whatever, it's a different story. Obviously you'll get readers interested in the subject matter, coming in from Google or wherever.  They personal reflection blogs and the themed blogs are really two different creatures, which is why I like to think of my site not really as a blog, but as a website that uses blogging software for content management.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

There's also supposed to be sites out there where bloggers can go to list their blogs.  But as what I post are mostly reviews I just post about them here and enter a link at IMDB.
