Not in a zoo.
I was on 10:00 break today at work. There's no smoking alllowed in the plant,so the company kindly provided us with a kinda gazebo structure outside the parking lot for us smokers. Next to this shack is deserted  house, and beyond it a large field next to a woods.
Ok....here it is. Me,Tom (my lift truck driver) and Manzy (an old timer) were puffing away when I looked over towards the field. Sometimes I spot deer. So-I see a deer colored critter moseying along-in no hurry. I sez-"Look-a deer!" Manzy sez-"Naw-It's gotta long tail. It's a dog." Me-"It's waaay to big-that's a dam big mutt!" We started staring at the thing....I got curious. So I took up and ran towards the field to check it out. I started whistling and saying "C'mere, boy!" It ignored me at first. I got within about-meh-50 yards of the thing. IT WAS A FRIGGIN' COUGAR. A big one. I turned tail and ran back. George (the guy who does all the hauling of junk machinery out into the woods in back of the factory) had told us about some cougar tracks in back near the creek. Nina (who wanders around on her lunch hour) saw some tracks as well while hunting mushrooms. And about 3 years ago in Porter Township,a big stink was in the local papers about panthers prowling around the hog farms.

I'm not the Tarzan type. Too short and scrawny. Besides-I think lions prefer Christians. I'm not.  :teddyr:

Me and my neice and nephew saw a coyote the other day.  it was the same thing, we see deer sometimes and we were watching one and we saw this mangy THING.  just nasty looking

I've seen tracks, but never actually spotted a cougar.  Seen plenty of bobcats, though.

Coyotes are all over Michigan. Cougars-that's like seeing an elephant. Not supposed to happen.

I read a book a while ago about the snow leapard in mongolia.   they're very rare but people see them ocasionally.

I've recently seen otters and a mink

Despite not being native to the UK, there has been a report of Mountain Lion sughtings and an attack on a horse thirty or forty miles from where I live.

There are few things more beautiful than a sporting montage with a soft-rock soundtrack

Nobody believes me.  :bluesad:
I had two
count 'em!
2
other people with me that saw it as well!

It's not like I saw a UFO or something..
(But I HAVE seen them before-but nobody believes me on that either-even though I had people with me then, too!)

I may be crazy-but I'm not blind or stupid.

What's that line from Shakespear?

There is more in this world than exists in your philosophy. Something like that.
I dunno-I'm a factory worker-not a lit professer.

I believe you and don't think it's all that implausible where you live.  I also think it's cool you saw one up close, and didn't get killed.

That's a rare, cool thing you saw RC, if someone doesn't believe you then I say "@%^&*'em.

I saw a bobcat once and was pretty impressed by the power he exuded and he was standing still staring at me.

Here's a site all about Cougars in Michigan. You should go there and register your siting.    http://www.savethecougar.org/cougarlinks.htm

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Paquita

I believe it!  A cougar was shot roaming around the alleys in Chicago not too long ago.

I thought that was a little extreme though.  I know it can be gross, but we should be more accepting of older women that are interested in younger men, they don't all deserve to be shot.
