Very sad, I enjoyed watching Christmas Vacation, the Home Alone franchise (Not number 4), and Beethoven.  My parents are fans of his other works.  He shall be missed.  It's been a bad summer for celebrites.

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

If God exists, why did he make me an atheist? Thats His first mistake.

My favorite film of his is Planes, Trains and Automobiles.  A true classic.  Amazing how well known he is as a director, considering he was only active doing that for for 7 years and produced just 8 films.  But when you've got PT and A, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Uncle Buck and The Breakfast Club (not to mention writing Vacation), it's one hell of a 7 year run.

RIP.

One of the funniest movies ever made!

My Mom loved that stupid movie The Great Outdoors. When John Candy shoots the hair off the bears butt, I thought she was going to fall off her chair.

Anybody that could make my mom laugh that hard deserves a spot in Heaven.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

R.I.P. Mr. Hughes.  Thank for the many great films and the many great memories of your films as a child of the 80's.

BTW, I got this link off of AICN and I agree with them that it says a ton of great of a person that John Hughes actually was.

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far~ ruminations
