SHE CREATURE (2001): http://radiation-scarred-reviews.blogspot.com/2009/08/she-creature-2001.html
"Soon, the mermaid mind-controls the captain into steering the ship towards a rather jagged set of islands that don't appear on any map, and her purpose becomes clear. She is the provider, the Queen of the Mermaids, who is bringing food home for her family."

I've only seen the first half of that movie, but it seemed really good.  Recorded it off TV a while back, so I'll have to finish it up one of these days.  I can't read the second half of your review until then either  :teddyr:

I remember this as part of the late night AIP remakes (which you mentioned in your review).  This is the one I liked second best. How to make a Monster was the best one-I thought did a good job at updating the ideas of the original.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

I'll have to look into that.  The only ones I ever see available are SHE CREATURE, EARTH VERSUS THE SPIDER and TEENAGE CAVEMAN.  And TC and EvtS are both, by every account I've seen, horrible.

Well, HTMAM still isn't a GOOD movie by most definitions.  But it's certainly the best one of the AIP remakes.

I think I saw all of those EXCEPT The Day The World Ended.  SHE CREATURE was definitely the best of the lot!
