I wondered if there was a thread on this TV show. They have been showing it again on ITV4 over here in the afternoons and I must say it holds up against anything currently running. Such a clever and intriguing piece of programming. I absolutely love Patrick McGoohan, I think he was a phenomenal actor and it's testament to his talent that he wrote, starred and produced this series which is still well respected and debated over here in the UK. My favourite episode by a country mile is "Many Happy Returns", where No.6 escapes the island and goes back to London to see what became of his home and to contact his former employers. There is no dialogue for about 25mins, but it is so gripping and towards the end you just know a horrible twist is coming, then it does even better than expected.

As a child (when my parents were still together), I was taken on a trip to Portmeirion (Wales) and it is a truly gorgeous, yet surreal place. That must have been at least 12 years back, but I remember the architecture vividly from the "Prisoner" tour we went on. Easily one of the greatest shows ever.

The Burgomaster

I bought the DVD boxed sets a few years ago.  I love this show.  I remember watching it when I was a little kid.  I probably had no idea what was going on, but I thought the big balloon chasing people around was pretty cool.
"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."
