We just had our first day in ten with some sunshine on Sunday and now looks like another front will be stalling out over us which will keep us wet through next weekend.

This has been a very odd summer and it is really strange to see bright green grass this time of year.  I 'm hoping we'll get a few cool dry days in October.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Here in SE Minnesota, it's raining today, but only for the second time in about 20 days.  Great golfing weather, but not so good for the lawn, garden or flowers.

We tend to be either pretty dry or absolutely soaked for days. We're too far from the coast to be exposed to hurricanes but when I see a few days of complete drenching that tends to be when I realize there's a storm working its way up the coast.

Rain killed RI's summer this year.  My garden never got a chance to do much of anything because of it.

It's rain so much where I am in Alabama that I am considering building an ark.

Well, the good news is that the deluge completely filled (overfilled) Lake Allatoona and almost filled up Lake Lanier.  Both of those were at critical levels when we left Georgia some years ago.

When it comes to rounding up all the animals, I'll make it worth your while to conveniently forget about getting any moose. After what they did to my Pimpmobile, those things need to go extinct.

Since I don't know where to find any to begin with around here, you got a deal.

My summer in New Orleans was that in June the weather was hot as hell and in july/august the weather was rain for a week.  :teddyr:

I'll take all of your rain down here.  It's been raining, well drizzling, sporadically for the last few days, but down here we need a freakin' deluge!  Right in the dams! We are currently at approx 25% of water supplies, and with summer about to start, that ain't good.  If we don't get some good rain in the next couple of years, we'll be pretty screwed.

Drought for ten years will do that to a state.  It doesn't help that bushfire season is upon us and because of the dry year we had last year coupled with a week straight of 45degree Celsius days, I'm just hoping we don't have as bad a run of fire as we did last season [towns wiped out, people died, all in all a pretty horrible event]

So yes, I'll currently take a flood down here.  It's the least I can do for my northern friends.

I can't find the video but a house exploded in Georgia and fire fighters could not get to it because of flood waters. Fire fighters said that the flood waters caused the house to shift on it's foundation causing the gas line to break then something inside sparked it to cause it to blow up. Only reason the fire didn't spread beyond the house was cause of the rushing flood waters surrounding it.
Also hearing a lot of people are ticked off cause they were flooded out and had no flood insurance. They felt they did not need it cause they didn't live in a flood plain area and are now out of luck cause their homeowner's policies don't cover flood damage. Why I am glad I live on top of a hill with lots of drainage. If my house gets flooded, we got bigger issues to worry about that if it's covered by my insurance. Issues like do I have a boat and is it sea worthy cause most of state is going to be under water.
