I doubt he is going to have an easy time of this regardless of what his lawyers claim. He was found guilty and then thumbed his nose to US justice system for almost 40 years by fleeing to Europe. Doing something like that does tend to tick people off.

I don't like the guy at all, but I will say he can direct a good movie (I can't believe he directed Chinatown, Rosemary's Baby, and The Pianist).
