What Halloween plans do you have - for yourself or kids? Anyone need suggestions/input on costume ideas - what to be or how to make it work? (Almost said "how to pull it off' but that would have been a major tactical error on this board!)

My 11 y.o. son wants to be Dr Who. (To him that means the David Tennant incarnation). Hooboy. The shoes, the suit, the hair...OK. Trip to the thrift store. I can whomp up a passable sonic screwdriver. Two big challenges: *the coat* (got to have the trenchcoat - right?) and the fact that half the recognition factor is the behaviour. (The kid is shy and easily embarassed. Never mind that 80% of the people who see him will have no clue anyway. ) Finding the *right* coat, in his size (and for pennies)...oh man...why oh why couldn't he have wanted to be a cyberman? THAT I could do!

Mr. DS

My oldest is being Superman and my youngest is being a dragon which I'm calling Godzilla because its looks like it.

My friends and I have been tossing around the idea as going out as Deathklock from Metalocalypse.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

I'm gonna be Jake from "Jake's booty call" Lateeeeeeeeee lol

I was the David Tennant Doctor Who last year!!! All I did was wear a suit with some glasses, and a $10 trenchcoat from Value Village (Thrift Store). And one person recognized who I was trying to be. Also, I used a "Black light pen" from the dollar store as my sonic screwdriver. Pictures of the pen: http://tinyurl.com/ybbffsf and http://tinyurl.com/yb2q5jw

This year I'm going as Riff-Raff from Rocky Horror Picture Show. I'm going Trick-or-treating with my friends (yes I still do that, even at 16) and then going to a midnight showing of RHPS.

I plan to dress as the fat guy who lives in my house which is pretty much how I dress year round.
My eldest daughter has two costumes, one is a witch, and the other is a zombie.
My youngest is still trying to decide. She is wanting to be Dorthy from the Wizard of Oz but also looking at other ideas.

Simpson was considered for the title role in The Terminator, but producers feared he was \"too nice\" to be taken seriously as a cold-blooded killer.
Isn\'t hindsight great.
A person is smart. Right: the glasses! (Smacks forehead) And thanks for the tips on the pens, SPazzo_1493. Very helpful.

Have fun as "Riff-Raff" - great idea!

Saucerman

I'm preparing two costumes this year.

The weekend before Halloween I'll be visiting my friend Kristen dressed as Jason from Friday the 13th Part 3:

All I need at this point is the mask.

Kristen and I will also be trolling the premiere of Twilight: New Moon. She'll be dressed as Edward Cullen, and I will be Bella Swan.

The Burgomaster

I was invited to a big party, but I haven't thought of a costume yet. Maybe I'll just go as a guy passed out on the sofa in pools of his own urine and vomit. That should be an easy one.

Oh and don't forget the hair! David Tennant has an interesting hair-do:

Indeed. My greatest concern at this point is that IF I don't get it all just 'right', people will be guessing that the poor kid is Harry Potter!
