I can't help but think that my nation is beyond paranoid about the government. Everything the president does makes people (At least a good majority of the Internet) have extreme crazy theories and think there is a hidden agenda, people think the Obama is turning the country into something sort of what the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany (What possibly makes them think that?), people say that the Constitution is being destroyed in some way, people say that Socialism is slowly being pushed into politics and that it will destroy the country, and hundreds of others insane things. This line of thinking is starting to worry me. Will this just destroy us in the end? What do you guys think? Has America really become this paranoid over the government or is it just a small number of people on the Internet?

I'm just so confused and lost in sea of ramble, hatred, and weird viewpoints that make it hard to even determine what is right and what is wrong anymore! I'm so lost...

Here's some of the crazy things I have found:

Yeah... I could only find really Obama ones, mostly because it is easier to spot in the insanity in the people who made them.

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

They need to pick one, he cant be all of them. Socialist, Marxist, fascist, commie.. etc. What cracks me up are the people yelling socialism! keep the governments hands of my medicare. uh, dumbass, that is a government run program.

The ones yelling about their rights being taken away? Where were they during the last 8 years while Bush was using the constitution to wipe his butt? not a peep out of them. And most cant articulate what rights exactly are being taken. Too much Beck watching if you ask me.

What we are seeing is a rise in the extreme right wing. These are not typical republicans or conservatives IMO. Some of it I believe has to do with a black man with a muslim name in the white house. Not all of them of course.

To many people listening to hate radio and believing it all. FFS the man hasnt been president for a year yet. In 3,4 years if he has made half the mess that the prior administration left I will jump on the I hate obama bandwagon, until then I will give him the opportunity to fix what Bush effed up.

Anyone who compares the president to Hilter is an idiot. Sorry. I didnt like it when some said it about Bush and I dont like it now.

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far~ ruminations

Mr. DS

I don't get involved with political threads much but I'm tired of this sh*t. Many people are seriously f*cked in the head in America today with their asinine conspiracy theories about Obama and THAT scares me more than "Socialism" any day.

Political propaganda is nothing new. I have seen it from both Republicans and Democrats and both usually make similar claims about the other. Lets face the real facts, no politician really cares about the average citizen in the United States, just staying in office. Politicians from both parties would sell their own mothers to be raped if they thought it would help them stay in office. Which is why it confuses me when people get so hostile when protecting a politician they favor and vile when bashing one they dislike. If they really cared about what people wanted then they would all stop their party fights and get down to actually looking at facts of what is best for the country as a whole.

Simpson was considered for the title role in The Terminator, but producers feared he was \"too nice\" to be taken seriously as a cold-blooded killer.
Isn\'t hindsight great.
A person is smart. Well, I think the extremists on both sides of the fence get more press than the majority of voters, at least in America. There are plenty of people who vote strictly on party lines, and limit their information to outlets that solely promote their point of view. It's the politics of willful ignorance.

I don't want to pick on one party, but look at these two quotes from the same person (Sarah Palin):

"Taking more from a small business or small business owners or from a hard-working families and then redistributing that money according to a politician's priorities -- there are hints of socialism in there."

"We're set up, unlike other states in the union, where it's collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs."

You can't reconcile those two statements (and the second is very true), without a fair bit of cognitive dissonance.

I don't think these extremists represent the real American voter. But it's easier to talk about them than to confront the true complexity of American life/politics, and if there is one thing the media in this country has demonstrated again and again is that they are lazy and solely concerned with making money.

People are still informed, they're just misrepresented.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

This is the way politics have been since the first cro-magnon decided he was in charge of everyone in the cave

I too am getting tired of this BS. I got thing in the mail yesterday about the healthcare and how we are going to have long waits for critical surgeries and can be denied care . This crap has been endlessly debunked, but far right keep right on spewing this stuff.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

That's is exactly what Britain (a socialist country) is like.

See this? This is EXACTLY why George Washington, in his farewell address as he left the office of the Presidency, warned against the creation of political parties.

The Founding Fathers have been rolling in their graves for a long time. Jefferson and those guys foresaw a government with citizen legislators, not professional politicians.

There is so much money if national politics it's ridiculous. Our representatives spend most of their time grubbing for money to run in the next election. This is regardless of party, both sides are the same in this. It's hard to have progress when the foxes are running the hen house.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

People on the internet are stupid.
Except for you, bad movie lovers. That goes without saying.

I wouldn't worry about it.

For the record, I think Doggett is bad for America. He believes that Elvira should move to England.
