I'm sure all of you have had this thought run through your mind at one time or another.

I have....about 10 minutes ago.

If you could choose ONE celebrity, no matter what medium they are famous in, be it film, literature, stage etc...

Who would you pick to accompany you and why?

If they accepted, what would the two of you do together?

I pick Stephen King, my mentor.

I'd invite his wife Tabitha too.  (so she wouldn't feel left out)

I'd show him everything I have written thus far and ask him to analyze my fiction as a whole and what he thinks of my writing.
I'd ask him to point out what areas he personally thinks I'm lacking in and how to imnprove on it.

I'd ask his honest opinion of my skills and where he thinks I could possibly go career-wise with my prose.

I'd then invite everyone I knew including ALL OF YOU and throw a massive keggar with him as the guest of honor!
I know, I know, he doesn't drink anymore but who cares!?
Maybe he'd partake in  the occasional toke as it passed by him.  LOL!!

I'd also have a great local rock or metal band playing a live outdoor show and try to see to it that he got into the mosh pit and then we could pass him around as he bodysurfed on top of the crowd!!

Can you envision it!?
Stephen King bodysurfing!

LOL!!!!!!

I'm wary of meeting any celebrities whose work I admire; so rarely does the person measure up to the artist.  I've certainly heard of exceptions (a friend of mine talked his way backstage at a Paul McCartney show many years ago -- quite a feat -- and actually met the man; said he was as personable and charming in person as he ever was on stage) but mostly I'd go out of my way to AVOID meeting a celebrity whose work I admire (in regards to that see the contrary thread I just started).

In other words, my only answer to your question is a non-answer.  I know, no help at all.

Cool Funk E, you picked Michelle Yeoh. Love her films.

I'm not worried about them living up to their image.

Let me also throw in besides Marlon Brando would be Ric Flair. These to would interest me the most. Johnny Depp is also good, but not as first picks.

Pete B6K

Bruce Campbell
Mark Thomas (like Michael Moore but British and funnier)
Michael Moore
Fat Mike (of NoFX)
Lou Koller (of Sick Of It All)
Suzanne Snyder
Jack Burton (who goes by the name 'Kurt Russell' these days)
Jason Lee
Richard Kelly or Jake Gyllenhaal (I just love that film)
Jello Biafra (of Dead Kennedys etc)
Henry Rollins (of Black Flag/Rollins Band etc)
Roman Dirge (writer of Lenore, great comic)

Music wise:
I would say all the guys in Phish, they seem like mucho fun
Tori Amos-my mentor
Ani DiFranco

Movies/Tv:
Fez from that 70's show-he's cool
Dave Attel from the Insomniac show
Juliette Lewis
The Jackass guys (i know you all hate that show, but damnit i bet they are a lot of fun to hang out with)

If Jack Kerovac were alive, I'd put him down on my list of ppl I want to meet.

Deena

Politics is showbusiness for ugly people

I also would like to meet Henry Rollins....the cat can be pretty funny(swell GAP ad)
Errol Flynn(yeah he's dead...but still probably fun at a party)
Sean Connery
Drew Barrymore....oh, Drew
and the entire cast of the Bugaloos(at least until I sober up)

Everyone has potentially fatal flaws, but yours involve a love of soldiers' wives, an insatiable thirst for whiskey, and the seven weak points in your left ventricle.

DJ

Neville

Either John Carpenter or Gigi Edgley, the actress playing Chiana in "Farscape".
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

Scott

THE BUGALOOS thats funny, how about SIGMUND AND THE SEA MONSTERS, or H.R. PUFFINSTUFF? I won't go so far as to say I loved all those shows during those days, but looking back at them now I do. It was a great time and remember seeing everyone of them on Saturday mornings. Shows that I couldn't stand were SHAZAM and ISIS.

Again my picks are MARLON BRANDO and RIC FLAIR. I think they have had interesting lives, and though I don't think I would get much out of BRANDO at least it would be interesting.

Actually I think BRANDO'S talent or ways of doing things are weird, strange, and odd enough to make him and his movies elligible topics of this messageboard. As much as any BRUCE CAMBELL or PETER JACKSON.

>Who would you pick to accompany you

Alyson Hannigan (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Lauren Lee Smith (Mutant X)
Laura Bertram (Andromeda)
Lexa Doig (Andromeda)

>and why?

Look up a picture of each of the above and the reason should be clear.

>If they accepted, what would the two of you do together?

I'd rather not say on a public discussion board. :)
