I remember Soupy from when I was a kid, you never knew who or what might be behind the door, but you always knew someone was getting a pie in the face.

Never again shall he suggest kids take a dollar from Mommy's purse.  Rest in peace, Soupy.  You were one of a kind, sir.

The Burgomaster

I remember watching Soupy when I was a little kid.  I loved the show, but I was terrified by his pet dog or whatever it was . . . they only showed the furry hands and the rest of the body was off camera.  I vividly remember crying once when those hands came on the screen.  Probably scarred me emotionally forever.
"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Allhallowsday

SOUPY was great and well loved.  Friday night I saw JUDY COLLINS at the Old Mill in Spring Lake, NJ, and there I heard the sad news that SOUPY had left the building.  He will be remembered as a gentle, funny, unique talent.  Goodnight, Soupbone
