I've just realized that there isn't a decent donut shop in Pretoria central at all. In the suburbs, yes but not around here.

In Canadian cities, they seem to be about as common as fire hydrants. We're among the biggest per capita coffee drinkers in the world. That reminds me, I've only had two cups this morning. See ya later.

Tim Hortons is currently invading my area which is ok with me.  There are way too many Dunkin Donuts per square inch around here.

It will be interesting to see how far Tim's will go in the US. It's practically a cult up here. The customers are so fiercely loyal, few rivals have been able to match them. Krispy Kreme came in with much fanfare a few years back, then quietly vanished.

Anyway, let's not get too far off topic.

2.) A neighbor across the street
3.) A person who lives up the road
4.) A person who lives several blocks from you in walking distance

Okay I'm not gonna give you no heat 'bout no "fantasy world..."  I won't even quote it...   
I'm flattered Darksider would want me in his neighborhood at all, but disappointed  just "up the road..."  "Course that's cuz he's got perfect sense.  However, I'd be glad to have Darksider on either my right or left with Susan on the other side for balance and brains.  I'm damned direct, and when drinking mercurial, to put it kindly for myself, but Darksider has a great sense of humor which I know I appreciate in a neighbor... also if such neighbor had a brain and loved BADMOVIES, and music, well... 

Across the street, I'd like Trekgeezer or Cheezflixz, as Darksider mentioned, a reliable neighbor to borrow from, rely on, ask their opinion, etc.  A person you know who views you critically, perhaps even a polar opposite, but you know is man enough to never let prejudice get in his way and will make up his own mind. 

I'd like Andrew to live up the road.  A tolerant gentleman, he and I don't always see eye to eye, but he is kind, reliable and awesomely generous, qualities I admire.  With a little space, I think we could develop a true friendship. 

If I do have a true friend on Badmovies, and I mean a person I've actually spoken to and there's a few, I'd have to lay that on RCMerchant, who could be the "person who lives several blocks away from you in walking distance".  I don't want to see my dearest friends every hour or maybe even every day, and I do suspect that RCMerchant would be in competition with me for loudest music (but trust me, I'm a good neighbor and know the time and context and consider them when hitting the volume dial).     Bela?  I'm not so sure...   

Your "fantasy world" Darksider, is a place I visit often in my thoughts... a place where everyone everywhere can respect each other and agree to disagree.

I'd love to just poke around a film archive and see whats there.  Maybe one of those silly cars from Space Mutiny is hidden somewhere... that was made in SA.  I fact, I'll have Trevor use it to get to work, albeit rather slowly.

Thanks for the compliments  All Hallows.   I've always tended to gravitate toward people who are unlike me, it makes life so much more interesting and has led to some odd but enriching friendships through out my life.  I too wouldn't mind Ron Merchant for a neighbor, of course I would have to learn to live with the noise....eerrrr I mean music.


One other person I would like for a neighbor MeQual.  I can imagine the two of us sharing a back yard fence. Two southern boys sharing tales of life's calamities and blessings over the back fence.

Neighbors to the side of me: probably Doggett and Venomx. Suspect we'd have a lot in common.

Across the street: Circus...suspect he'd be an entertaining guy to have around on occasion and I don't mind loud music. Or perhaps RCMerchant because we have similar taste in music and movies.

Up the road...allhallowsday, Raffine as I feel I could learn much from them.
