I guess it's time for another hint.  First, I'll reiterate that this movie was made sometime after 1977.  Second, it is a Tawianese movie, not a Hong Kong movie.

Yes, Jim, you got it!  I knew people on this board had the MARTIAL ARTS 50 PACK.  This is the movie that features "Sida, the French monkey star" in his only known filmed performance!  You're up!

That's the one that has outright lies in the synopsis of the movie.  Or at least, it's for the wrong movie.  It does mention the monkey though, which is what jogged my memory.  One of about 15 of the films I haven't yet watched in the pack.

Indeed it is!  Not a great film, but it's alright.  Really does feel like a lot of missed potential though, I'd agree.  It was a blind buy when it was on sale for cheap.

That pic is from my favorite scene in the film...  For those who haven't seen it, a character has just been quite cowardly and left his girlfriend to die (which she does).  That big guy saw it happen, then beats up the coward and pulls a knife.  People rush up and tell him killing the guy won't help anything.  His response is basically.

"Maybe not, but it'd make all of us feel a HELL of a lot better!"
