Are they female goats?  And, if so, do you milk them?  If we miss one day of milking our goats freak out.  Plus, they'll go dry and won't produce any more milk.

These are Boer goats, raised for their meat rather than their milk.  I have four nannies that are nursing kids right now, the others are dry.  One of them has a double teat on one side that is too big for the babies to nurse off of until they are about a week or more old, so we have to milk her on that side for a few days right after she gives birth.  We save that milk in case we have any nannies that can't or won't nurse their babies.  I enjoy raising the little goats and always feel a pang of guilt when I sell the young ones, knowing that most of the males will wind up in fajitas.   I would feel less guilt if my daughters would allow me to fix said fajitas myself, however!
