ok. recently watched this direct-to-video "gem." swarms of cgi insects and loads of mealworms but not one freaking zombie to be found. still, it's nice to see that malcolm mcdowell is still getting work...

Island of the Dead - 2000 (Unr). (VHS) Directed and co-written by Tim Southam. Tagline: "Never Disturb The Dead." Malcolm McDowell stars as Rupert King, a crooked millionaire hellbent on devoloping a homeless shelter on Hart's Island, a New York coastal island where the city's unknown are buried. King's dirty evil secret is that he intends to use the homeless shelter as a diabolical drug-testing facility. King and the others unlucky enough to remain on the island following the groundbreaking ceremony are soon terrorized by uninteresting swarms of ambiguous insects and herds of squirming mealworms. Those bitten by the winged buggies quickly decompose into worm food. Not as interesting as it might sound and not a zombie to be found. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Doesn't sound so evil to me.   It's about time someone found a use for the homeless that can benefit us.
