The Silver Surfer cartoon ended with the hero dead and the villain conquering the universe.  It was supposed to the the cliffhanger that led into season 2, only there never was a season 2.  oops.

What about shows that never really got a finale.  Married With Children, Deadwood, Mortal Kombat Conquest...etc.

Dallas' final episode where JR is shown by Joel Grey what would have happened in the Ewing universe had he not been born, was OK I guess but not great.

Cliff Barnes becoming the president of the USA?  :buggedout:

The ending of "Farscape", before the series was finally concluded in "The Peacekeeper Wars" mini, was pretty much awful. It left the main characters being randomly killed.

Also, the ending of "The lost world". It ended with a battle between the good guys and the bad guys, and then you start watching many of the good guys dying, leaving many questions unsolved.

Then there's the ending of "The Sarah Connor Chronicles". I think it's brilliant, but at the same time it's a damn shame to see a show finish just when things were starting to get really interesting.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

The finale of Enterprise, where they just jumped ahead to where the series would have eventually headed, and did it all as a holodeck recreation for Riker and Troi. I know they basically had to pull a finale out of their asses, but it didn't have to be as apparent as it was.

And the anime series, Neon Genesis Evangelion. Watched twenty-plus action-packed episodes that were building up to something big, then sat there scratching my head for a lot of cello playing and discussion of "instrumentality." I know it was later brought to a more conventional conclusion with End of Evangelion later on, but even the later parts of that made me wonder if somebody's shiitake mushrooms got switched for something more magical.

Haven't seen it myself, but I'm told in the finale of Roseanne, it's revealed the whole series was in the main character's mind, and it was her way of dealing with the knowledge that her husband was killed years ago.

Er... okay.

Course, considering the last season has the family winning the lotterry and all sorts of other crazy s**t, I guess someone felt they had to top everything somehow.

Wow....thats uh,...realy dark for a comedy.

The last episode of "Primeval", evidently the series was cancelled and it left a lot of loose ends. This was, along with "Doctor Who", the reason I watched BBC America on Saturday afternoons.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

forgot the name, but this man gets shot, but turns out to be a dream. WTF?!
yeah no.

Drew Carey show never got a real finale, and for some reason in it's last couple seasons they took it from ratings leader to a really weird show that made little sense and wasn't funny at all.

The Prisoner ,  what a weird ride and not a single question answered.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

The ending to the Alien Nation series was a bit of a downer.  In the final ep, there's this group of scientists who've devised a virus that'll kill all the Newcomers. The show ends with the Fransisco family getting infected and put into quarantine, and we close on a scientist saying something like, "By tomorrow, we can all look back on the Newcomers as if they were just a bad dream."

The thing of it is, this wasn't supposed to be the final episode, it was supposed to be a cliff-hanger for the season finale, but the show got canceled.

Course, this one has a happy ending, the series was concluded about four years later with the made for TV movie Alien Nation: Dark Horizon (although the movie retcons the series a little bit, this time it's only George Fransisco's wife and kids who get virus, leaving him free to investigate the case.)

No, just the last season was roseanne's novel, the rest of the series, up to dan's heart attack, was real.
