A Good Scene Ruined By the Soundtrack

So yeah, like the title says.  Ever watch a movie and when you reach a good scene in it, the whole thing is ruined by the soundtrack.  It could be that the music is too loud, it is completely stupid, is really inapporiate for what is happening in the scene, or could even be because there isn't any music at all!  I've only seen one example of that in Devil Fish where two people discover a body and there is sort of an odd porno like background music.

So, can you guys name any scenes ruined by a soundtrack piece?

Watchmen...a good portion of the movie actually.  I wouldn't necessarily say "ruined" but it was definitely p!ss poor choices. Particularly the funeral scene accompanied by Simon and Garfunkel.  The Comedian getting his @ss kicked to "Unforgettable".  The Comedian and Night Owl calming down a riot to "Boogie Man".  Horrible, cheesy and overly cliched.     The backing music in the Dr. Manhattan sequence was perfect I found.

I thought Watchmen had some really inspired choices for music that really set it apart from the usual stuff we see these days.

I would have to go with Hawk the Slayer. When you are watching a sword and sorcery flick you don't expect there to be a 70's funkadelic soundtrack.

While I have significant problems with the movie version of Watchmen, I think the opening set to "The Times They Are A-Changin'" is incredibly strong. "Unforgettable" has an important meaning in the original comic, so I'll let that one slide.

Agreed, matter of fact that opening sequence with that track is one of the best ever IMHO.

I don't know who supplied the music for Gordon Hessler's otherwise good Scream and Scream Again but the pseudo-jazz soundtrack really doesn't fit the film.

Panic in Year Zero - the music is ll wrong for this film. Something dead serious can be going on and there's this continuous thumping loud, tin sounding music going on in the background. It's worst of all during the scene when Karen is attacked, seriously detracting from the disturbing scene.
