These Monsters Grow!

Some things from Space on film have an habit of transforming and growing, getting larger and larger once they find themselves upon Earth:

From 20 Million Miles To Earth comes the Ymir, who's basically egg-napped and brought here to Earth only to hatch in an environment that adversely affects his physiology which results in him getting bigger and bigger  - he soon bursts free of his cage confinements simply trying to find a bite to eat and generally tries to mind his own business but some damn dog barks at him and attacks him and suddenly he is mistaken as this deadly threat to humanity although he never does anything harmful to anything unless he's attacked or otherwise provoked. Eventually he's become so large and so furious at being tormented that he becomes a very serious threat indeed.

A strange meteor crashes into the Earth, a curious old man pokes it with a stick - suddenly some mysterious goo runs up the stick and surrounds his arm causing the man great discomfort. A couple of teenagers (including Steve McQueen who hardly looks teenage at all) carry him to the Doctor but soon find themselves and the entire town (but only the teens seem to have any sense) facing the deadly serious force, that growing all-encompassing mass known as The Blob!

A rocket crashes into the British country in the middle of the night. On the scene is the man behind the rocket's mysterious journey to the stars - Bernard Quatermass. They rescue one of the astronauts but find something rather odd seems to be happening to him. Ultimately they uncover the secret behind all of this and learn the truth about the deadly growing spreading potential of the new alien life form faced in The Quatermass Xperiment. Now can they stop it?

They come to Earth as spores but soon grow into pods. Beware these unusual plants because maybe they might grow into you! Beware The Invasion of the Body Snatchers. You know you just don't want to become a pod person.

The smallest invaders can hold deadly potential.

Likewise some monsters on Earth grow out of Atomic Mutation and Radiation experiments or bombs gone awry. Sometimes there are giants awakened in the Earth due to us foolish humans setting off some more of  dem' bombs and what not! Watch out for The Amazing Colossal Man, Gamera and Rodan. Beware of Them! all!!!! The smallest creatures (atoms, molecules, germs even!) thus  too hold inside deadly potential.

A kid eats the radioactive heart of the Frankenstein Monster (?!?!) and grows into a big caveman!

Rats,wasps,meal worms and even chickens grow to enormous size in FOOD OF THE GODS...




And of course-the Colossal Man...in his second film WAR OF THE COLASSAL BEAST!

REPTILICUS started as a piecea parta flesh (thats cartoon Italian)-and grew into a giant puppet that spits green cartoon venom!

Godzilla was actually a smaller dinosaur before the bomb testing that made him radioactive and huge. You can see him in one of the 90s Toho films as Godzillasaurus.

Rodan was hatched from an egg so I assume he got a bit bigger but I could be wrong. With him and Gamera, I was more referring to the "Giants Awakened in the Earth" bit I mentioned in the original thread.
