Watching Tobe Hooper's Mortuary.  5 minutes in, and I've already declared that this movie sucks.

Got a $60 polarizing filter for $3.99 at Value Village today.  I'm so happy. :teddyr:

Oh my god, Mortuary keeps getting worse.  It's like Wicked Little Things took a s**t Children of the Living Dead, then they both had nasty sex.  Why, Tobe?  Why?  Didn't you read the script before directing this?

And the ending sucks.  :teddyr:

I just had a crazy thought the other day... I was watching Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles when it hit me: isn't having Asperger's syndrome a bit like being the Terminator?  (Minus all the super strength and invulnerability of course.)

I mean, think about it, both have difficulty picking up subtle social cues, have trouble telling why people feel the way they do, and usually tend to take the most direct and logical (if not socially acceptable) path to things.

Anyway, not in any trying to make light of people with the syndrome, but it just hit me as a somewhat valid comparison from what I understand of it.

I have to chuckle at those shows where they go into the woods looking for legendary creatures like Bigfoot or whatever.  If you spent one night noisily walking through the woods around here (and one night is about average for those shows), you'd be lucky to see a deer.  You wouldn't stand a chance in a million of seeing a fox or a wild turkey or a woodchuck, yet they're all pretty common.  See Bigfoot?  Uh, yeah.  Good luck with that.

I have Asperger's Syndrome and that is an interesting (and mostly true) way of looking at it.

Interestingly, People with Asperger's Syndrome often have illogical habits which differ from their logical way of thinking.

A good example:  For several years when I was much younger, whenever I went somewhere new I would insist on touching the floor or ground before continuing.

One major difference is unlike terminators, people with Asperger's Syndrome can often easily and swiftly become very upset or extremely happy and excited.

I will say that growing up and even now to a much lesser extent it was extremely hard for me to make and keep friends.

Wait, who's GUD?

Greatest Uncommon Denominator.  It's a magazine, and a pretty picky one at that.  But they were one of the only ones accepting novelettes.
