MY DARLING CLEMENTINE (1946) is on TCM tonight at 8pm EST !!!   One of the greatest of all Western films, if you haven't seen JOHN FORD's masterpiece, MY DARLING CLEMENTINE, the archetypal Western, it is a MUST SEE if you have the slightest interest in Westerns, JOHN FORD, HENRY FONDA, WALTER BRENNAN (playing a truly evil character) LINDA DARNELL, VICTOR MATURE (this is the film that made me start to appreciate how good MATURE was) and so many other wonderful character actors including ALAN MOWBRAY, TIM HOLT, WARD BOND, JOHN IRELAND... familiar faces like JANE DARWELL, CATHY DOWNS (the leading lady from THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN)... This movie has it all, suspense, humor, action, cold-blooded murder, tragedy and revenge!  Magnificently shot, beautifully and simply scripted, impeccably acted, I can't tell you how wonderful this film is.  But once you've seen it, you'll know.

I haven't seen this since I worked in a videotape rental store in the 1980s.  We would watch movies all day and this one would usually end up on the play list when we were in a "western mood."
