Does anyone know if this will be released on dvd again anytime soon (director's cut, hopefully)? I foolishly did not purchase it when it was available, and i hate to pay those whoremongers on Ebay $75 or $80 for a copy.

Anchor Bay has plans to release both the Theatrical Cut (which, I might add, is Romero's prefered cut), the Original Complete Cut (which was advertised as "The Director's Cut"), and for an added bonus the Italian release version titled ZOMBI that has additional Goblin music.

From what I have heard, these are planned to be issued on a three-disk Collector's Edition DVD with commentaries, interviews, etc. But, that's all I know for now. I guess we will have to wait and see.

It's do out later this year (early fall, I think). A two disc set of Day of the Dead is in the works as well.

Dario Argento's edit of the movie (called ZOMBI and featuring more gore and Goblin music) will ONLY be in the boxed set. The Theatrical cut and the Cannes screening cut will also be released in seperate editions as well, but I'm going for the box!

Guess I'll need to go for the box set too...personally, I'm more interested in the European cut, because I think Romero made it about twenty minutes too long.
Still, I'm glad I've waited this far to buy this...just hope Anchor Bay doesn't botch it.

Looking forward to this one and day- nice to see some pretty comprehensive dvds are coming out finally unlike the old releases.

Does anyone know if its gonna another dumb "flipping" dvd? i suppose im gonna get it no matter what and ill have to deal if it is flipping but at least ill know how sexcited i should be!

Ok, I'm ashamed to admit it, but I don't know what the difference is between these two cuts. I only know of the R and unrated versions, where the R one removes or trims much of the violence and gore (like omitting the scene of the zombie kids being killed).

Unfortunately, I can't afford them either. :(

What I can do is drop by the local cemetery and dig you up the real thing. Ok, so it won't walk on its own and try to eat you, but it will have that authentic putrid aroma and you'll get the maggots for free. If it helps, I'll volunteer to take a chunk out of your arm, or whatever other body part you care to offer. :)
