What an idiot.

Though I have to wonder, is he an idiot for making the statement (in jest apparently and let's face it, we all make similar jokes on occasion) or for posting it to such a public place?

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

A-hole.

Reminds me a comment I once saw on IMBD where a guy clearly said the same thing.

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

When I was in the Navy, I was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan.  We underwent extensive training in intercultural relations when we arrived, and most of us liked and admired the Japanese.  At least, we knew enough to avoid deliberately p***ing them off.  But then the stateside fleet came to visit on a portcall, and one of their boys wore a T-shirt offbase (I'm guessing hidden under his jacket) with a picture of a mushroom cloud on it that said "Made in America, Tested in Japan."

He had 27 broken bones when they found him.  Some things, you don't joke about.

Yeah that's a pretty stupid thing to say.

It's weird to think that a country as vibrant, and as cool as Japan had a quasi-Fascist dictator.

It's not weird at all to me.  Seeing the way they deal with political stuff now and the attitudes of their leaders (not to mention how passive the people there seem to be about it), if left to their own devices I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again.

But yeah.  Even though Levasseur probably had no real ill intent, that doesn't make it OK.  Should have known better.
