Games on the Forum

This was a suggestion I made in the Unofficial Random Thought Thread and it seemed to get a little bit of support there. Anyways I suggested we have a separate section for all the popular games on the site, assuming it's even possible for the powers that be to do so, which would include all the Fame and Shame games in one place so those who wanted to avoid them could more easily. We could also potentially move games such as Bad Movies Picture War and Name That Movie- Picture Game, Make Me a Triple Feature Game, in there too although I suggest bookmarking those long-term popular gaming threads at the top of such a board.

I agree, these not anything I care to deal with and are starting to get bothersome to me.

I voted give them their own section. Not because they bother me or I think they clutter up the board, it would just be easier to hit all the ones I want to participate in at one time.

Doesn't really matter to me, I just ignore the ones I'm not interested in.  I voted "let them play themselves out."  I do find too many sub-boards aesthetically unpleasing.

I said move them to their own board, but then it occurred to me that they'd still show up whenever I hit "show unread posts since last visit", so anyhow, just let them play out.

I don't play any of the Fame or Shame games and have no desire to do so.
Personally, I feel that they have literally infested this forum.  It's irritating to me when I write a post about a movie only to have it overshadowed by some game.

I voted to give them their own section.  Other people like playing them, so there's no reason to take them away. (even though I wish they would all just disappear for good)

I think that they should be moved to their own section.  They kinda clutter up the boards, and are a little annoying.  I don't play them that often, to be honest.  I may post every once in a while, but not that much.

They need one section, just for them.  Maybe a child board for the Off Topic section?

I honestly don't think games of any sort are going to disappear.  The Bad Movie Picture War has been ongoing for quite some time now and people generally seem to love it.  I personally enjoy most of the games here but thats me.

I think a subboard will work for gamers and nongamers alike on the board.  I can totally see how nongamers can be irritated having to sift through the games to find posts of interest.  On the other hand, gamers can easily find what they are looking for.  

It all depends on the complexity of adding a subboard and moving the topics over whatever qualifies.

Yup.  I think we're stuck with them.

You can just click on that board and click "mark as read" to all of them in one go. Then, go back to a clutter free page of unread topics.

The Game Discussion Threads should probably be moved over there too. How do people feel about the idea of moving other games like the Name That Movie- Pictures Thread over there or The Bad Movies Picture War? I think if they are, those should be bookmarked at the top given their long-term ongoing play.

Just a heads up, we are currently in the process of moving all games/discussion threads into the new link posted above.  There are plenty of them so in case we missed something let us know.  However, wait until the end of next week to post because its a work in progress.
