Captain Blood(again, with the swashbucklers)

There are better movies out there, and even movies I like better, but  these are the ones I don't have.

My favorite Swashbuckling films are.

THE THREE MUSKATEERS  - Not sure of the title, but it stars Racheal Welch. This one of the best ones.

CUTHROAT ISLAND - The one with Geena Davis. I liked that one. The film was packed with action that almost becomes to distracting, but is was still good.

ROBIN HOOD - Not sure if this is a swashbuckler but its in the neighborhood. The famous one with Flynn.

MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY - All three film versions. Eithier with Laughton, Brando, or Gibson. Like them all.

BLUEBEARD - The comedy with Bob Hope. Maybe it was Blackbeard. This is a funny one, and I don't usually like Bob Hope movies. Prefer Abbott and Costello.

The Girl and the Gold Watch (I think that was the title)
Death Ray 2000 (as well as the series that spawned from that show) (Also I think that was the title for that movie)
The Other (seen this movie when I was a kid)

The Three Musketeers(1974) and The Four Musketeers, it's sequel, were both amazingly kickass movies!!, in fact I all the movies you've listed are outstanding swashbucklers, except the Bob Hope film, which ,I haven't seen

I remember that movie THE GIRL, THE GOLDWATCH, AND EVERYTHING. Wasn't that film made for TV? I remember WPIX from New York played the commercial constantly.

Seen 2000 MANIACS last year. Some of the characters were just way to goofy. I couldn't get into it for that reason. I'm hoping to see BLOODFEST and the rest of that directors films, but I hope his other films don't have totally rediculous characters like those Southerners in 2000 Maniacs. It was better than WORM EATERS, but they are in the same league. Almost like a precursor to some Troma films. I really find it hard to watch a Troma film. I like their taped ads they show before the movie, but nothing much beyond that. And I don't consider the masterpiece BLOOD SUCKING FREAKS a Troma film. BLOOD SUCKING FREAKS is in my top 10 favorite films.

I'll have to put THEY LIVE on my films to see list. I really always liked ROWDY RODDY PIPER in the wrestling world, but I can't stand seeing to many films that star pro wrestlers. I once seen Roddy Piper only a week after he hit Jimmy Snuka in the head with the coconut when he first entered the WWF. That night though we was wrestling Andre the Giant. Piper did good against Andre the Giant, but left the ring and went to the dressing room after Andre started getting upset. Before the show began Piper had to pass through the crowd outside the Spectrum and he wouldn't shake anyones hand and people started throwing garbage on him. Andre the Giant ride right up the underground entrance to the Spectrum that night in a taxi. He had to lean across the back seat just to fit. Exciting time in the wrestling world. It must have been about 1984 as Piper just left the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling after a brutal feud with Greg "The Hammer" Valentine that culminated in a steel cage match were Piper lost most of his hearing in one ear from a damage ear drum.

THEY LIVE is a very good movie and Roddy Piper acted very good in that movie too (I think he acted in too many "B" movies to become a better actor)

I also think he was type casted as being a dumb minded wrestling actor type...

Unlike Hulk Hogan (who clearly cannot act, and I think he knows it so that is why his movies are funny... but boring too...)

I also think this is why the WWE is doing wounders with "The Rock" they have learned from the major mistakes as not pushing Roddy Piper's acting talent, and over pushing the acting talent of Hulk Hogan...

 Yup. Then there was the sequel, The Girl, the Gold Watch and Dynamite.

Not to question Scott's veracity, but there never has been a film titled "Blackbeard."
The closest films to this title are "Blackbeard's Ghost" w/ Peter Ustinov and "Blackbeard, the Pirate" w/ Robert Newton, and neither starrred Bob Hope.
But, the word "Blackbeard" makes me think Scott might be thinking of "The Princess and the Pirate," which did star Bob Hope and Virginia Mayo, Walter Slezak, Victor McLaglen, and an almost unrecognizable Walter Brennan and a fine list of character actors, which included Marc Lawrence,, Hugo Haas, Brandon Hurst, Tom Kennedy, Stanley Andrews, Robert Warriick,, Francis Ford, Rondo Hatton, Mike Mazurki, Ray Teal, and Tom Tyler, and with a cameo appearance by Bing Crosby. One of Hope's better films.

If that is the one were Bob Hopes character has a treasure map on his chest. Then it is indeed the one. Funny movie. The girl was of some high social standing when there ship was captured by pirates. Bob Hope and the girl do theatrical stage stuff at the pirates bar/hangout and Hope is invited to drink barrels of liquor. The whole pirate town must have been the murder capital of the world. Bodies falling everwhere.

I always know a film more by who is in it, then the plot of it, but, Scott is right. That is the plot of Bob Hope's "Princess and the Pirate." Enjoy!
