Forget Hollywood . . . those guys are only trying to make money. The revolution should be against the idiots who shell out money to SEE movies like Kangaroo Jack.

Hah! I was wondering where Scottie got this from: SciFi.com's schedule only runs through March right now, but  Satellite News has a tentative listing through May.

Jeez--someone actually wanted the rights back for "Hobgoblins" and "Parts: The Clonus Horror?" Feh.

I'm finally gettin' the "trades" from MST3KVideos.com...pray for me, I've never seen Season One before. I've read somewhere that, like the KTMA Season (also haven't seen that...yet), Best Brains requested that Season One not be repeated in syndication and such because they didn't like it. (I still get chills gawking at  stills of the KTMA stuff. I don't know it I could take it.)

There is SO MUCH to love in this episode -- the ultracheesy "effects" (I hesitate to even call'em that), the single-synth disco music (okay, everybody sing:  Pu-Ma Man, He Flies Like A Mo-Ron"), the wimpy hero ("I get this way when I sense danger" has become a catchword around our house), the heroine with the Jack-Nicholson-as-the-Joker smile.

MST at its best.

Favorite line:  "Help, I'm falling at a 60 degree angle defying all laws of physics!"

A peach!  Oh, no, it's just Donald Pleasance.

Oh crap, it's that Aztec guy.

I actually sorta like the KTMA episodes. They're nowhere NEAR as good as the regular episodes, to be sure (I'm pretty sure the theater segments were ad-libbed, and it shows), but you can feel the vibe of a really cool local show. Plus, it's fun to see cast members pop up in locally-produced ads in the breaks. :)

Where is the best place to look for the old KTMA episodes?  I'd assume they'll release all the Comedy Central ones at some point, but who trades the best tapes of the KTMA's?

MST3KVideo.com has them; MST3KTapes.com as well. I've only just ordered my first set from MST3KVideo; they seem to have more options and better prices. Will keep you posted on final results.

And I will eventually see the KTMA season. Not only do they have the rare "City on Fire" and "Humanoid Woman," there's no other place I know of to obtain "SST: Death Flight" and "Superdome."

How much do you pay for your tapes? My "dealer" only charges the cost for the tape and shipping (about $2.25 per tape) and she has every episode available to trade. I think I've found one of the best traders in the market honestly! She always throws in specials and extras at the end of tapes to fill space, and the quality is always great. Let me know if you'd be interested in getting in with this great trader.

Pyooma-man. Heh, I guess nobody had the stones to tell Donald Plesence how to pronounce it.

Hey, Scottie, if you could pass that traders info my way, I'd be greatly appriciative.

Are the tapes only of the episodes that aired on SciFi, or do they have prior ones? Before it moved to SciFi, one of the other cable channels showed a single episode of it and the movie was Alien from LA.

C'mon, guys: do the research. Most MST3K sites--there are still so very many--have links and even recommendations. While I don't know who Scottie's "dealer" is, I gave you two sites that--after much research of my own--I can recommend WITH THE WARNING that (as mentioned before) I'm only now getting my first set and have no idea what the quality is like. (However, MST3KVideos.com has a link to the guy's eBay feedback, which gives one an idea. eBay clamped down on him in July, but his customers seem very happy.)

Both MST3KVideos.com and MST3KTapes.com offer both VHS and DVD at reasonable prices. (To anyone who might disagree: this isn't your good buddy dubbing an episode of "Farscape" for you on an old cassette. This takes time, effort, and media. Get a job, slaphead.) They both believe in Best Brains' declaration ("Keep circulating the tapes!") but neither will undercut Best Brains or Rhino by hawking those episodes that are available on commercial video.

For example: I just order Season One from MST3KVideos. Because the MST3K episode of "The Crawling Hand" is available on video, the Season One set will not include that episode. Both sites I've mentioned very clearly list which episodes will not be dubbed.

Happy shopping!

...Oh, and I thought I'd take a second to plug Jean's MST3K Gallery again. Some prints are offered for sale now!  "Caraservio" and "Crow and Mitchell" make me shriek with laughter ever single time I see them.

"You know, if the Space-Man Puma Thing turns out to be the correct religion, I for one with be very surprised."
"You know, I have almost no respect for pumas now. I know that if I ever run into a puma, I can just push it the hell over."
"At all times he has the look of a man who's been hit with a fish."

...And, naturally, the Season One set arrived today from MST3KVideos. I got it on DVD (DVD-R), and for those curious, they play fine on the PlayStation2.

Quality: I've only watched a few moments from "Robot Holocaust," and although this was graded on the site as an "A"-grade copy, there were a couple of "drops" in the opening sequence. No biggie.

One should bear in mind that these DVD-Rs are copied from tapes, so preservation should be your goal, not "DVD-quality" image. The image is very good, but strictly second-generation VHS quality.

Got them "plain"--round slimline cases with "MST3K" and the  episode number handwritten on the disc. (He offers optional Amaray cases with cover art for a little more.)

Everything else: Convenient PayPal option; sent quickly and well-packaged. Feedback viewable on his guestbook; the button is located on the "How To Get Tapes" page right above Brain Guy.

Happy happy happy happy. Think I'll order Season Seven next...then Five. "Santa Claus" and "Radar Secret Service?" ...I have to change my underwear now.

MST3Ktapes. I got "Robot Holocost", "Legend of the Dinosaurs" and "Crawling eye" from them. I was happy, but, a few months ago, the dvd's started going bad. I don't know why. I stored them like i do my nornal dvd, so i don't have a clue as to why the degridation. Any one else have such problims?
