I has seen lots of bad movies and the two last films that I want to call "bad" movies is White Out and 2012, this films are made to be good, but they are not, and therefor do I like them. It is just fun to see them and spit out funny comments and point out all the unlogical tings in them.
But for a few days ago did i find a collection of Troma films, I had read that Troma shall be some of the worst movies made. But I was not happy, all the Troma films was made to be bad, and they was bad. I can not call that a true b-movie or a bad movie, It is just crap, for if you sat as a goal to make a bad movie and it is bad, than you has done what you wanted and therefor is it a great movie (or something like that).

So my question if is other think like me, i.e: That films that is made to be bad  b-movies not shall be listed ad bad movies due to that actually succeeded with its goal as a film?

P.S Sorry for the bad spelling, I am a Swede.

So, let me get this straight. If it's made to be good and it's bad, then you like it. If it's made to be bad and it's good, then you like it. Does this mean you do not like films that are made to be good and ARE good? I'm confused.
I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org

Wait, nevermind, I reread your post. But I still want to know, if it is made to be good and it is good, do you like it?

I like films like "The Green Slime", it was originally made to be a normal SiFi with a rather normal film budget, but men hanging in wires and a asteroid with normal gravitation dose make me laugh. I also LOL when I see that they has a radar the is covering a whole continent in White Out, but if you do things like that in a comedy it will become a aother kind of fun.

I Love Leslie Nielsen's Airplane, that is a great and good movie, Toxix Avenger is a comedy made as a bad movie, it dose it so well that is not are bad, it is funny, but not bad. White Out is so bad that it is funny, it is another kind of funny that turns your sofa into a peanut gallery.

So films from Troma is a own genre and films like Toxic Avenger are the best of the worst in this genre. So they are not true bad films by me.

so to put it in a nutshell, if a film achieves what it set out to do, then it can be classed as a good movie, even if it's a 'bad' movie. or something.

I'm not sure about the rest of what you said, kenny, but I agree with you about the Troma films.  They are made to be bad, and they are bad, but they fail to entertain me or even make me laugh, so I also think they are just crap.

Look people, you're making this far too complicated. Here's the correct series of formulas:

If made to be good but bad, then good, unless it contains no good boobs, in which case, bad.
If made to be bad and bad, then bad, unless it contains good boobs, in which case, good.
If made to be good and good, then ?
If made to be bad and good, then good, and if it contains good boobs, then REALLY good.

Questions?

I get what Knny was saying, and I agree with the basics.  But Troma is a special case for me.  They're intended to be "bad," so they acheive what they set out to be.  But the makers really intended the films to look like they're bad, but to be entertaining.  If they fail to entertain me (as Troma so often does), then they are actually bad.

Intentional bad movies usually take the fun out of bad movies for me. Unless they happen to be very entertaining. That is not always the case with most of Troma's output, but there are a few exceptions like the first Toxic Avenger.

Nukie 2

Troma knows that they are making bad movies, and so they have comedic elements written into them. But, their entire comedic value doesn't exclusively rest on the known cheapness and intentional badness of the movie, like those awful Polonia Brothers movies.

I recently watched Troma's The Last Horror Film, A.K.A. Fanatic, about a taxi driver stalking his favourite horror scream queen while a maniac kills people around her. It was great, IMO, and I liked it much much more than the stupid big-budget movie Bewitched, which I watched the same day.

Yes, you got it. Who's on first. What's on second. And I don't know is on third.
