i am now convinced that don dohler rules the universe via his cinematic masterpieces...

Fiend - 1980 (Not Rated). (VHS) Another low-budget labor-of-love written, directed, and edited by Don Dohler. Starring many actors from his usual stable of talent (including George Stover). Introducing Greg Dohler as Scotty. Tagline: "Super-Strangler Strikes in Suburbia!" A glowing red crustacean-looking entity hovers over a cemetery before possessing a rotted corpse. The corpse, AKA the Fiend, must absorb living lifeforce in order to prevent deterioration. He also makes his living giving violin lessons in his unfinished basement. This flick is Dohler's follow-up to "The Alien Factor" and the capable Don Leifert, who played the hero in "...Factor," stars as the Fiend. It might not always make sense but it's a RECOMMENDED low-low-budget flick for patient B-fans (especially of Ed Wood) with a forgiving sense of humor.

"...complete with low-quality pics!!!"

Well, at least you HAVE pics. The Gouda Bros. gave a less flattering review over at Cheesy Movie A Go-Go!--the only other one I can find for "Fiend"--but no purty pitchers.

Not a bad little review! I don't know which is more repulsive--the "glow" effect, or those shirt collars! (Fix-me note: the URL linked to the logo at the top of the page has a "2" in it that makes it incorrect. The "Home" link is correct, though.)

mr. henry

Squishy, i got a kick out of that other review. guess i'm a little more forgiving of the dohler man. i dig his flicks in an ed wood jr. sorta way...at the least it's better than what i've seen of the Polonia brothers work...at least this was on film and not video.

i also fixed my broken links...forgot i was dropping reviews into a new folder...so thanks again for that.

Mr. Henry, the Polonia brothers rule the universe along with Don Dohler. Seriously, how can you watch FEEDERS and not be convinced that John Polonia's constantly changing socks are a sign of some kind of mad cosmic power?

By the way, does FIEND feature a hat by Don Leifert?

I myself own FEEDERS, but not as proudly as ALIEN FACTOR, GALAXY INVADER, and FIEND. at least don dohler's aliens can move...

no hat credit...not a hat to be found.

Are you kidding me, Mr. Henry? The Polonia aliens can move! Didn't you notice their menacing "I'm going to get you" jiggle whenever they're about to attack yet another hapless victim?

And remember: Earth was just an appetizer!

mr. henry

OK. it's been a while since i watched my copy of FEEDERS (bought at a blockbuster). apparently, from the website Squishy mentioned above, there were many unhappy people that rented it since it is so bad. understandable...

i'll have to review feeders on my site soon. right now i've started a review for THE MAD BUTCHER...but then i'll tackle feeders...and let you know when i post it so you can let me know what you think. i appreciate all the feedback...

FEEDERS may be my first zero star review...

When my wife and I found our previously-viewed copy of FEEDERS at Blockbuster, we literally (and I mean "literally" in its literal sense) began hugging each other and dancing in front of the for-sale display. It was a beautiful moment.

Well, I've seen this film. Actually the first half before I rewinded it. It was a bad movie. I couldn't even find it humoursly bad. The pictures Mr. Henry gives us is all you need to know. It almost can be classified as a non-movie. The special effects are the worst. I'm willing to give it another chance since it was about 3 years ago that I seen it on an Vestron or HBO  80's VHS. The cover is what sold me. Maybe I was expecting to much. :)

Scott

Mr. Henry that is a nice website though. A good one. I'll check it out more later.

Zero stars for FEEDERS? Are you mad? Next you'll be telling me that SAURIANS deserves zero stars, too! Or SPLATTER FARM, the film that does for chocolate pudding what Ronald Reagan did for jellybeans!

Todd R.

I can see that I've offended everyone. So be it!

Viva los FEEDERS!
