Hey All.
I just bought XANADU for 3 bucks on VHS.  I knew it was gonna be bad.. it was universally panned by critics and filmgoers alike, and heard that the FX were cheesy as hell and out of place, and that Olivia Newton-John's acting is pretty bad.  Well, I went ahead and got it anyway, and yeah.. they're right.  I did have a little fun MST3King it in spots, but was just speechless at other times.

That was my first film I bought KNOWING it would be bad, but just wanted to get a laugh out of it.  Can you guys remember your first?

The firsr flick that I bought knowing it was going to be bad was The One Armed Executioner. To me, this movie was painful to watch. I lost it in a move,I wish I still had it to torment my friends.

Killer Klowns from Outer space is technically the first, but I actually ended up loving it.  I just assumed it would be s**t from the ridiculous name, and it's definitely bad.. but in the best way possible.

If you want the first one that ended up truly being bad and painful to watch that I went out and got was probably Turkish Star Wars.

Yes.  I sought out Turkish Star Wars and bought a bootleg.  One of my worst purchases.

I honestly don't remember the first but Black Samurai was one of them.

Rev. Powell

I think it may have been BATTLE OF THE WORLDS (1961) (with Claude Rains).
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE in 1986. One of my very first VHS purchases, from that great ol' 80's video company The Nostagia Merchant. It had a shot of Bela from ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN on the cover.

"VERY RARE!" now, according to eBay.

If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

Satanic, only good thing in it was a shower scene where the main actress gets topless. I've watched the movie 3 times just because of that scene.

Mofo Rising

I bought a copy of RABID GRANNIES figuring it would be good for a chuckle.

How wrong I was.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

It was Jaws: The Revenge.  I knew this movie was going to blow big time, but I thought that just maybe I get a laugh out of it from the special effects and maybe some cornball acting.  However, even with the amusing bad effects, it wasn't enough to keep me going through the film.

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

yeah no.

Probably "Mesa Of Lost Women" and it was rather bad BUT thoroughly enjoyable after a fashion.
There are few things more beautiful than a sporting montage with a soft-rock soundtrack

That's a great one - one of my favorites!

Should I admit way back when I ordered this from Sinister Cinema and paid 15 bucks for it?

This one: made in South Africa by NuWorld Services / NuImage and I enjoyed it so much that I wrote a review of it for Andrew but then I thought the review wasn't any good, so I deleted the thing.  :buggedout:

The final harbor assault scenes were filmed in my mom's home town.  :buggedout:
