The Burgomaster

Here's another one I bought from Cinema de Bizarre.  Interestingly, it is an Italian movie, but the version I bought is dubbed into German and has English subtitles.  And the subtitles have frequent misspellings and incorrect punctuation.  And for some reason, the letter "s" is missing from many of the words in the subtitles!

Anyway, this movie isn't very good.  It's a sometimes confusing story about a guy who keeps having weird dreams and he believes he may be responsible for a series of murders.  Richard Conte (Don Barzini from THE GODFATHER) plays the guy's psychiatrist.  In one dream sequence, a guy who was shot in the throat spits out a live frog (sort of like the frog-vomiting scene in THE HOUSE OF EXORCISM).

The movie just goes on and on with the "is it real or is it a dream" gimmic repeating itself over and over.

*** SPOILER ***

At the end, the main character wakes up on the sofa and answers the telephone (the exact same as the opening scene of the movie) and the whole damned thing starts over again.

I'm a fan of giallo, but I can't recommend this one.
