I'm generally a fan of all bad movies, though I do have particular areas of interest. I'm mostly into the b-westerns of the 30's and 40's, the cheap programmers of the 30's and cheezy old detective/thriller flicks. These are the films I enjoy the most and the areas in which I'm most knowledgeable.

I also know that some of you are more into certain genres, for instance I know who to ask about a zombie flick, and I know that Andrew Crow is the Ghostbusters afficianado. What, if any, are your particular areas of interest, and what genres do you most enjoy?

PS. don't annonymously answer Lesbian-Poet-Zombie flicks...I'll know who you are.

Everyone has potentially fatal flaws, but yours involve a love of soldiers' wives, an insatiable thirst for whiskey, and the seven weak points in your left ventricle.

I'm a big fan of the 1960s and 1970s in general because a lot of great drive-in movies came of of those decades. As for genres, I'm a fan of the following (in no particular order):

* Blaxploitation - There's something about funky guitar music, afros, leather outfits, and seedy Harlem bars that gives a movie great atmosphere. Blaxploitation horror (such as Blackenstein, Blacula, etc.) is a groovy sub-genre that emerged during the overall blaxploitation craze.

* Euro-sex-horror movies - There were dozens upon dozens of these produced during the 1970s. Italy, Spain and Germany (among other countries) cranked out some real B-movie classics. Give me an old castle, a hunchbacked dwarf, a dungeon, and naked female vampires, and I'll be a happy man!

* Zombie movies - Of course. No explanation needed.

* Car chase movies - I discussed these in a separate message. DIRTY MARY, CRAZY LARRY . . . VANISHING POINT . . . DEATH RACE 2000 . . . WHITE LINE FEVER . . . bring me more, I say!

* Italian "giallo" films - I'm a big fan of Dario Argento and Mario Bava. . . movies like DEEP RED, BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE and SHOCK are true classics. Probably not even B-movies . . . they are actually very good.

* I also give an honorable mention to movies like KENTUCKY FRIED MOVIE and the GROOVE TUBE . . . irreverent humor and plenty of boobs.

I seem to have seen a lot of post-apoc movies, especially involving androids and/or time travel...

I've seen the 'Trinity' movies, and some other Terrance Hill flicks,'Superfuzz' anyone? I haven't heard of the Lucky Luke movies. And the only lesbian-poet zombie movie I know of is ' Gertrude Stein: When this you see, remember me'. I saw it in school and it's about a lesbian poet and it left me feeling like a zombie.

Funk, E.

I believe got a strong knowledge of B-Fantasy, Andi Sidaris, Vampire and post-apoc movies. Otherwise I've only got a smattering in most other catagories.

Foywonder

Monster movies in general but giant monster movies from Asia would be my preference.

JohnL

I've always been partial to time travel movies.

Trollificus

Cheesy Kung Fu always gets to me. As well as space movies with bad science and/or recycled Western/War/Horror plots.

Got kinda tired of gore/slasher movies. And the one thing we learn of the future from post-apoc films is that, whatever it is that takes civilization down, it will result in a future world that will be inexpensive to film in.

PS) The fact that there is NOT a genre of "GIANT lesbian poet zombie" movies is an indictment of the film industry!

Vermin Boy

My favorites are ones that seem to have been made by the clinically insane-- Rat Pfink A Boo Boo, Fantasy Mission Force, Blood Freak, the films of Ed Wood, etc.

Am I alone in liking the action schlockfests of David A. Prior (DEADLY PREY, one of the worst of the RAMBO rip-offs) and Cirio H. Santiago (SAVAGE! and T.N.T. JACKSON)?

Lee

Can't say I really specialize in any B-movie category. But probably my two favorite are Kung-fu and action B-movies. But really I'll watch any kind if I think I'll get enjoyment out of it(unfortunatley I've also endured some real crap bag flicks).
