I really dislike my daughters friend.     She will never spend the night at my house again.

Lots of them.  You could probably start a topic on that question and get lots of users to come out of the woodwork.

I used to write fiction, but that's on the back burner right now.  I sold one story, which pretty much satisfied my need for recognition.  I also worked as a staff writer/ghostwriter for a local magazine that folded after two issues.  Now, I only write movie reviews and the occasional movie essay, for the time being.  I'd like to write a script or two in the near future.

My family's wall in the shower has been breaking, rotting, and crumbling for some time now. I got into the shower, brushed against the wall, and a bunch of tiles fell into the tub. The inside of the wall is also crumbling, breaking, and rotting.

We can't use that shower now until it's fixed.   

We will have to use rags to bathe ourselves at a sink. 

I had just started the shower too.  I was not even able to use soap yet.

It's getting to be the hottest time of the year too.

It will be expensive to fix.

We are already tight on money.




Wish me luck so that my family can have a quick and inexpensive, but effective repair job done! (yeah right  )

I try to balance my pessimistic side and optimistic side, but to get through this I'm going to force myself to be slightly more optimistic.  I'm still very lucky in terms of the quality of my life.
