I'm more familiar with Lawler as an announcer, although, I liked the feud he had with Andy Kaufman.  I wasn't alive when they were doing that, but saw some special on Comedy Central.  Never saw a bad Kurt Angle match.

Lawler was a fantastic heel at times and he's an old-time wrestler new grapplers should definitely study but he was always to me more of a Tennessee/Memphis legend than really anywhere else.

Essentially, yeah.  I mean, I was thinking it was just me thinking that.  But, I feel the same way about wrestlers from up here (Philly, hence my love of ECW guys) than about others.  I dunno.  I'm not saying he's bad.  I just like the other 4 better.
