His New World Pictures was the US distributor, so that's the connection.

I own it.  The people writing the reviews are not taking into account that this is 1981 science fiction film, made by a man who is known for working with shoestring budgets.  It's not a restored version, but a high quality transfer from the best material available.  I first saw the film during the 80's on VHS - and I've also seen a VHS made from the Japanese LD.  The DVD is the highest quality version of "Galaxy of Terror" that I've ever seen.

Where's Attack of the Crab Monsters?!

From the first Roger Corman DVD/Blu-ray thread:

Quote
(Undated) – Attack of the Crab Monsters (1957) / Not of This Earth (1957) Double Feature DVD

This one was scheduled for this summer but they've now put it off indefinitely. Reportedly they can't find a good quality master for NOT OF THIS EARTH.

This is the most recent news (about 2-3 weeks old):

"Attack of the Crab Monsters," "Not of this Earth" (1957), and "War of the Satellites" are due out from Shout! Factory in "early 2011."

I hope Galaxy of Terror is good quality. I found it on a torrent a year ago and the quality is fantastic. I would hate to think my copy is better than what is coming in the mail.

If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

It's the best I've ever seen the film, including having seen a transfer from the Japanese LD.  Here's another thread with us talking about the releases:

I'm Dying To See ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS!

I remember seeing it on TV about a million years ago. It's really hilarious how the goofy-looking giant crabs can eat people and then talk in their voice, so they can lure in even more more munchies.

I can't wait!
