Movie with people eating tarp

This one was a very, very bad film. I saw it on Chiller Theatre when I was a kid and can't remember the name. A ship crashes and this thing that looks like a tent or tarp roams the countryside devouring teenagers and spitting out their shoes. It ate an entire dancefloor full of people, who for some reason couldn't outrun the tarp. Really need help with this one. It's driving me nuts.
