It's been that time of the year, but I've been too busy to post about it (though not too busy to enjoy them).  It's summer!  That means PEACHES!  Right now I have a bushel of them in the house, a mix of Loring, Glohaven, Redhaven, and Flamin' Fury (PF 24, I think - there are a bunch of sub varieties of Flamin' Fury that ripen at different times).  Fifer Orchard is near where I grew up, and we now live thirty or forty minutes drive from there, so I've been visiting their market store for peaches, blueberries, corn, cantaloupes, and honey.

The Loring's have been really good so far, even better than my normal favorite, the Flamin' Fury.  The Redhaven's were good.  To boot, the early peaches I like, the Sentry, were really good.

Right now is the really sweet spot in the season for fresh peaches (end of July to the middle of August), so I'm in Heaven with a capital "P" (for peaches).  Been eating between three and four of them a day, and occasionally glutting on up to six or seven.

If you haven't eaten a peach lately, find a good local orchard or farm market and enjoy!

I've had my share so far this summer that's for sure.  Nothing like biting into one and letting the flavor rip!  I love when they're so ripe that you can pull the pit out..all those lovely hues of red, orange, and bright yellow that indicate total ripeness.   I love em' too!  Great thread!

Other fruits I like are plums, grapes, blueberries, cherries, and apples.

I had some honeydew melon last week that was so sweet it was nearly too much. My wife and I were drinking Pinot Grigio, a particularly fruity wine, and it was making the wine taste extremely sour. That's how sweet it was.

Whoa....I've bitten into some plums and some other fruits that were so ripe they were red inside, and were so sweet (and fermented) that you ptactically needed a license to sell liquor, lol

I freaking LOVE peaches.  Just hate that they're so expensive when they're not in season (at least, around here.)

Dunno about you guys, but I like them when they're soft and juicy.

Never had white peaches though, that sounds interesting...

White peaches are OK, but my heart will always be taken by golden yellow freestone peaches.  I like peaches when they yield just a little to being squeezed, and don't stay dimpled.  Not quite "soft."  They also give off a strong peach scent when they reach that point.
