The Burgomaster

Let's put together a list of Oscar winners who ended up with B-movie (or worse) careers. I will begin with:

1. Ray Milland - Won an Oscar for THE LOST WEEKEND. Ended up in movies like THE THING WITH TWO HEADS.

2. Louis Gossett, Jr. - Won an Oscar for AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMEN. Went on to star in movies like ACES: IRON EAGLE III.

3. Rod Steiger - Won an Oscar for IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT. Went on to star in numerous direct-to-video movies.

There are a bunch of obvious names that I omitted from my list. I want vereyone else to have a chance to participate.

Fire away!

Frederic March was a two time Best Actor winner who went on to make such poopers as ....tick...tick...tick.

Anyone remember F. Murray Abraham? Anyone remember him for something other than Amadeus? How 'bout Loaded Weapon 1, Last Action Hero, Dillinger and Capone, Muppets From Space??

George Kennedy won a Supporting Actor Oscar for Cool Hand Luke, and we all know what he went on to become!!

And Joe Pesci, another Best Supporting Actor, went on to make a host of s**t-bombs!

Two words....ERNEST FRIKKIN' BORGNINE!!!!

Marisa Tomei?  Linda Hunt?  Tommy Lee Jones?

Jack Palance...wait, not a good example.

It may be a bit early to judge Marisa Tomei. If I remember correctly, she was nominated for another Oscar last year (or was it the year before)?

Linda Hunt won an Oscar for playing a GUY, so she was doomed to begin with . . .

Reed Rothchild

Whoopi Goldberg for Ghost ( how the f**k that happened I'll never know ). Last film I saw her in had her as a cop, partnered with a F**king dinosaur.

...and Kevin Kline for A Fish Called Wanda. Wild Wild West, anyone?

Dont forget some real recent ones.
Cuba Gooding Jr. - yes he makes some decent comedies, and some s**t ones (Snow Dogs?) but remember his last two attempts at being serious were awful (What Dreams May Come and Men of Honor)

Helen Hunt - So promising, ended so soon.

Anna Paquin- sure shes hot and been in a blockbuster, but lots of people can do that.

Michael Douglass- I hate him, and Don't Say a Word really blew it

Chad, how can u say Tommy Lee Jones!?!?!? Sure he hasnt done any oscar work, but he has done some good stuff since.

Hello Folks:

There was an actress who won best support for "Inherited the Wind" and her film work went down hill ever since.  Her last know movie role was in a stupid Sci. Fi. picture called The Being which came out during the eighties.  Could anybody look her up in the Oscar books and tell who it  was.

If that's true, then Hillary Swank is screwed.

Lee

Hilary Swank was already screwed! I mean really how many of her movies are watchable.

It's depressing, but...Elizabeth Hartman's first role in "A Patch Of Blue" earned a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination; roles however were few and ever farther between. She played Buford Pusser's ill-fated wife in "Walking Tall" in 1973, then did not work again until 1980, appearing in a TV-movie then Larry Cohen's little-known "Full Moon High." In 1982, she provided the voice of Mrs. Brisby in "The Secret of NIMH," for which she was rightfully praised, but never worked again. She committed suicide in 1987.

On a lighter note: what IS wrong with Cuba Gooding Jr.? I thought he couldn't make anything worse than "Lightning Jack" or "Chill Factor," and along comes "Boat Trip." Dude, get a new agent. Yikes.
