If Your Life Could Be Used To Teach A Lesson What Would It Be?

Remember hearing tells about famous people and lessons you were suppose to learn from them based on how they lived their lives? One that comes to mind to me is Abraham Lincoln and how he was always honest. So I got to thinking, what lesson do you think people could learn from your life? If you feel you have more than one lesson that your life can teach, that's fine. Just list what you feel people can learn from your life.

2) Everything is temporary. Even your relationships chnage and grow, or don't grow.

3) Look and notice things, the world is a fascinating place.

Never let the abuse suffered as a child and adolescent make you an angry and bitter person later in life. Hard to believe but I am exactly that way sometimes.

Follow your dreams without delay. I was originally a film major at Boston University. The tuition was really high (and is much higher now) and I didn't want to be smothered with student loans so after a year and a half I took a leave of absence so I could work full time and save money. I ended up not saving much money and I never went back to B.U. to finish my degree. After 3 years, I went to Salem State College and got an accouting degree because it was a relatively inexpensive school and an accounting degree almost guaranteed you a good job upon graduation (i.e., I took the "safe" path). After working in the accouting field for about 8 - 10 years I decided to continue to pursue my film degree, this time at Emerson College. I was in the adult degree program for awhile, but then I changed jobs and started working too far from the school to make it to class at night. Now I've been working in the accounting field for 19 years, my office is nowhere near a film school, I have a mortgage to pay, and would probably need to take a nasty pay cut to work in the film industry (unless I hit the 1 in 10 million shot of selling a great screenplay). So, it looks like I screwed myself. I will probably find a way to finish my film degree some day, but I doubt it will ever be practical for me to launch a career in that industry. Moral of the story: follow your dreams without delay. If you wait too long, it may be too late.

Always question the status quo. They're not always wrong, but they tend to be because they're only doing what they're doing because it's convenient and risk-free.

Then again, don't follow my advice because I'm a misanthrope and anti-social. You're probably better off doing what works for you.

I was going to post something very similar. It only defines you if you let it, I dont. The same cant be said for my brother.

I can't say I've got a whole lot of experience behind me, but I have learned some things for sure.

While it's fun to mock things that deserve it, always remember that you have to take the time to enjoy things are genuinely good, too. Otherwise you will start to see everything as being worthy of bile and you'll lose your ability to simply enjoy the things around you (potentially even the very things you once loved).

I will say first hand that the antisocial loner thing doesn't always pan out, or at least in a school/business setting. Meet and talk to as many people you can, you never know who can hook you up with help down the road. This especially goes out to the youngins on the board.

Don't EVER EVER EVER have kids unless you are truly ready. When I say ready that includes being finanicially sound, patient and mature amongst other things. When the health teachers say protect yourself, they mean it. Wrap it guys!

Enjoy the little stuff as the old cliche goes. You don't need a gigantic vacation to the tropics to be happy. Taking time out to truly enjoy little things you like will make you feel a lot better.

Some fights are better off walking away from...especially with women.
