Ed Wood Books

I'm kind of curious if anyone here has read any of Ed Wood's books. I never realized he wrote so much. Apparently he was constantly writing throughout his life, and much of his work was quite lurid and shocking. Has anyone here read any of his work? And if so, I'd like your thoughts.

According to the Wiki article where I glommed these titles Wood often appeared in drag on the covers.

I've never read any of Wood's books either, and I'm guessing they sadly are not available at your local Walden Books or Books-A-Million.

No, I haven't read it, but that's the only title I've heard of, and it is available at Amazon.

Killer in Drag runs around $10. We'll see how Death of a Transvestite pans out before that kind of money is invested.

I just got my copy of Death of a Transvestite. A quick scan reveals it's the death row confession of a hired killer who likes to wear women's clothing when rubbing out his victims. Guess what his last wish is?

Surprise! Our hero's name is 'Glen' and his femme fatale alter ego is 'Glenda'.

When flipping through this I did catch this witty bit of Wood's dialogue:
"I haven't seen you smile like that for a long time."
"Maybe it's because I haven't smiled like this for a long time."
Pure gold!
