The Burgomaster

I bought this from Cinema de Bizarre hoping it would be a violent Italian crime film.  Instead, I get a comedy starring Thomas Milian (dubbed in English, but with Swedish subtitles) as a not-very-funny cop dressed in overalls, platform shoes, and big, colorful hats like he just escaped from an episode of GOOD TIMES or perhaps is auditioning for the role of Epstein in WELCOME BACK KOTTER.  He spends most of the movie making wisecracks, trying to sleep with women, and talking to past-his-prime actor Robert Webber who must have needed some quick cash, so he went to Europe to appear in this lame mess.  One sequence involves some burglars robbing an apartment.  One of them poops on a chair.  Milian carries the poop around until he finds the burglar at a restaurant and forces him to eat it.

Years from now I'll see this sitting on the shelf among my other DVDs and I'll say to myself, "Hmmmm.  I don't remember this one.  Maybe I'll watch it."  That will be a sad day.
