I'll warn you here, that it's not wise to be too close to skunk if you intend to shoot it. They will expel all their scent at once upon croaking.

Just some advice, as for this guy, he's not too bright and needs some gun handling lessons.    Of course, there's always a chance a squirrel could be involved.

This is why so many people get hurt with guns...improper handling.  In the 35 years I've been a recreational shooter, I 've never had an accident, but tha's because I was properly trained by my dad and my one cousin, who is a retired police officer.

Anyone in their right mind (or left)  NEVER loads a firearm barrel up.

This should be as common as knowing that coffee is hot (McDonald's take note.)

Yeah.  Practically all of good gun handling can be summed up as "assume all guns are loaded and could go off at any second".  So basically, don't ever point a gun in any direction where if it went off it could hurt something you don't want it to.  People break this rule regularly of course, and that's when accidents happen.  I also might add sometimes you HAVE to break that rule - like when cleaning most revolvers or when loading/cleaning black powder firearms.  But generally speaking, you really really really shouldn't.  The other important rule is basically "bullets go through stuff and go really far - don't forget it".
