I consider that a good thing.   Far too much sympathetic cute animal in the new one and not nearly enough scary monster. 

For the most part, I have to go with the originals here. 

The Invasion of the Body Snatchers movies I don't realy have a favorite.  I think they each stand alone as very different movies.

Well sorry you felt that way about PROM NIGHT. Me I didn't think it sucked. I thought it was a bit on the bad side sure but then the original film is awful too although in actuality these two films are absolutely nothing whatsoever alike aside from their title and they both involve proms.

Anyone in here ever seen "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari"? That had a good remake. It was shot for shot AND the actors DIDN'T suck.
