Movies I couldn't finish ... pretty much almost any movie on the Syfy channel.

Why? Usually lame stories, bad acting, bad CGI ....

i second that

It just came on cable, and I've tried to watch it, but it just wasn't doing anything for me. There were moments that I saw that looked like just that, a CGI fest that's supposed to wow us with CGI. Boooooring. It's like "wow, illuminated creatures that look like miniature jellyfish floating through the air. I'm stunned with CGI brilliance.

I don't know how it's the highest grossing flick of all time.  Avatar and Titanic, both horribly done, yet highest grossing.

People are sheep.  I don't get it.  Then again, I'm not a fan of Cameron.

You didn't like the Terminator series, Aliens or the Abyss? :(

No.  I give him credit though.  Him and Spielberg made a career out of making really terrible movies.

It's the only flick Lucas was involved in that I can tolerate/watch on a regular basis.  It's not great, but I found it vastly more entertaining than any of those stupid Star Wars things.  Friggin guy can't make a good movie either.

I just don't like the Alien series, the Terminator series, Avatar was 3 hours of s**t on a stick.  I didn't watch anything of the Abyss, mainly cause Cameron was involved and I wasn't a fan of his other works.

In fact, most 'big' flicks are ones I've never personally enjoyed.  My dvd collection is considered God-Awful by most.

I also think Cameron is very overrated. Personally while I do like Terminator and Aliens, he clearly used other ideas for those films ("Outer Limits" episodes and the book Starship Troopers) and I wouldn't be at all surprised to discover he borrowed ideas for his other films too...I think Titanic is just sad with how it turns a huge disaster into a sappy romance movie.

I'm never one to quibble over directorial preferances. People don't like what they don't like. But Spielberg? I understand the man has been going down the path of evil lately, but I think most people can reasonably agree his body of work is pretty damn impressive.

I really couldn't watch Journey to the Center of Time from beginning to end. The main problems for me was the pacing (so slow, aaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhh!!!), the acting (so damn weak and cheesy) and the dinosaur FX (a komodo dragon with roaring noises inserted? Come the f*** on!).

I firmly believe that this is the worst movie I've ever seen.

The man has some strong opinions on Cameron. That's his prerogative. I'm hit or miss, myself. I have a nostalgic fondness for both Aliens and the Terminator series, to be sure, but I totally agree with lester's assessment of Avatar, and I did not care for The Abyss, but then I have such a strong aversion of Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio that I'm not going to like ANYTHING she is in. Except for Scarface. She wasn't able to destroy that one. I don't know why she annoys me to the extent that she does, she just does.

And lester, your DVD collection being God-awful isn't much of a statement. It is a bad movies site after all, isn't it?

I give Spielberg some credit, he's found success in the directorial career.  Doesn't mean I necessarily have to like his movies.  But, I can't honesly name one movie he's done I've watched til the end. :buggedout:

Mr. DS

Count me in for Avatar.  I honestly gave it about an  half hour to an hour and gave up.  Its like Dances With Wolves with CGI that looks like a video game.
