QuoteA former Miss Canada finalist from Ontario has become the first graduate of a Liverpool university's groundbreaking degree program based on the Beatles.

Liverpool Hope University officials believe the master's program, which analyzes the iconic band's music and their impact on Western culture, offers the first advanced degree based on the life and times of the Fab Four.

...

She is one of 12 full-time students of the program, titled The Beatles, Popular Music and Society.

That will be about as useless as the degree a friend of mine got in "Pop Culture."

Gee, a degree in Beatle-ology, huh?  No problem for some, because like the Fab Four's mock peers The Rutles would say, "All You Need Is Cash.."

She might have to give up the degree.  I heard her thesis may not have been entirely her own work.  There are rumors she got by with a little help from her friends.

Well maybe she and the college staff can "come together" and come to some deal. She was quoted as saying she was confident that "we can work it out."

Oh well, if we let mother mary comfort us and speak words of wisdom, we may yet let this degree be.

But somehow, I think she had a hard day's night studying for this degree and I can't quite IMAGINE what she went through to get it.

Did someone tell her that "You can't do that" degree?

The problem is finding gainful employment with this degree. A few years from now, she'll probably still know not where she's going to, never mind where she'll be when she's 64. I look at some of these graduates and wonder, where do they all belong?

I suppose she could write a book with all she knows, if she wants to be a paperback writer.

Well, she can always fall back onto her prosthetics experience, using that face that she keeps in a jar by the door.

Hah, good one Jim H     And if that works, she'll have it made, she can just picture herself in a boat on a river,  floating down to Penny Lane to see her friend, the girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

But if it backfires on her, she'll have to hire someone to fix the hole whre the rain gets in, and stops her mind from wandering.  What a choice for this poor girl.

Maybe she should just take some time off and go traveling. Sail off to the sun and live a life of ease. Enjoy the sky of blue, the sea of green.
