I've been a fan of the Hokuto Sereis for a while now. It first began when Raijin Comics came out with "Fist of the Blue Sky/ Sotan no Ken" then I found the anime movie and was hooked on both Blue Sky and North Star. Then I started buying Master's Edition and now it's one of my favorites. I have a few questions though (some are really just your opinons)

1: If you read Fist of the Blue Sky then you'll know who Jin Ke Wong is. I remeber he idenitfied a fighting style as "Hokuto Shinken" but isn't "Fist of the North Star" in Japanese "Hokuto no Ken" so i'm just wondering if Hokuto Shinken is the name of the dojo where you learn "Hokuto no Ken"

2: People who are reading "Fist of the North Star: Master's Edition" this is to you people: What in your opinion is the coolest fight that has occured you far
A) Kenshiro vs. Shin
B) Kenshiro vs. The Colonal guy from Goland
C) Kenshiro vs. The Devil.

I'd say my favorite is Kenshiro vs. Shin.

3: Any one else here a fan of "fist of the Blue Sky"?

Well those are my three weird questions.

1. Actually, Hokuto Shinken is the name of the fighting style (translation: North Dipper God Fist or God Fist of the North Star, depending on who you ask).  Hokuto no Ken does pretty much translates as Fist of the North Star, but that's just the title of the series.

2. That's a tough question.  Kenshiro vs. Shin was definitely a brutal battle.  I really like the other two, though.  Guess I have a tie on my hands.  :)

3. I like Souten no Ken, but I've only read a little bit of it in the few issues of Raijin Comics I have.  Thankfully, they're releasing it in graphic novel form starting this summer.

Thank you for your opinion Todd Phillips, you're right brutal is good way to put Ken and Shin's rematch battle (I never made the connection between Shin putting the North Star on Kens chest, then Ken hammering the South Cross on Shins chest). Souten no Ken is awesome! It has more story than North Star (i'm not disen the story of North Star dude) and is well done. North Star and Blue Sky are equallys cool just in different ways.

Don't worry, I agree with you that HNK does lack in the story department sometimes.  Example: in the manga, the time it takes Kenshiro to reach and defeat Shin took about 10 chapters.  In the anime, it takes 22 episodes.  They did move the Colonel and Jackal/Devil Rebirth sections of the story around to extend that part of the series out, but after a while, it got really ridiculous to watch how many dumb ideas Toei came up with.  Of course, seeing Kenshiro take on a tank was cool.

WHAT!? Ken fights a tank! Is this when he fight Golan? I don't mind if it took Ken 10 comics to until Shin died but 22 episodes! That's just plain...lenghy. The strangly named but kinda cool general of Shin were pretty entertaining. Especially Heart. Oh wait now I understand how Toei lenghed Shin in the show, they did the same thing to Shin in the movie to where Shin dies before Ken goes to fight Raoh.
Shin is cool but I would not want stupidy exdent the his role like that.

Nah, he fights the tank a bit before he finally catches up with Shin.  And Shin dies pretty much the same way in the series as in the manga.  To be honest, I like his death in the movie better.
