Book based movies that never got it right.

'Cause bad books are just boring, where as bad movies can be a feast for the eyes and ears!!   

I liked the TV miniseries THE LANGOLIERS (is that right?  )  I did like the novella and movie equally well.  I thought they did a decent job with THE STAND (and I loved that book).

Fahrenheit 451 - although I do like the film, it just doesn't have the energy the book does.
