I'm tired of Zombies

I don't think it's the zombies themselves for me, it's the constant repetition of the same plot (ie- small band of survivors vs an undead world). That plot only works when the survivor characters are interesting and fleshed-out. I think it's time for zombies to go underground for a while again, maybe come back in a few years when there's some fresh ideas for them.

'Till then, I'm going to keep branching out into other horror genres. Lately I've been quite taken with eldritch creatures; maybe it's the idea that the rules can change for each creature, and aren't necessarily going to remain in effect once you've figured them out!

I find zombies better than the exploitation of vampires and werewolves of late.  I've actually taught my 5 years old to say "BRAIIIIIINSSSS".

There's nothing wrong with zombies, but we need more variety.  Same for vampires.

I truly love zombies, but I do have to admit that they have gotten a bit to commercial. Their every where now days and the whole genre has gotten a little stale. Why isn't their a movie where its animals that become zombies, or a alien invasion with zombies, or where the zombies are not dumb, but just like us except dead and like to eat brains? Come on people, those ideas are gold!

I'm not sick of zombies.  But I'm not exposed to them as much as some.  I only see them on DVDs because I don't have any game consoles or other media for them.

They still scare the bejeebles out of me no matter what movie I see them in.  I've borrowed a British show called Dead Set and I'm looking forward to seeing if it's as good as I've heard it is.

Indeed, Dr. Menard. You and your friend Lucas have been very hard at work all these years, trying to find out just what it was that raised the dead from the ground on the island of Matoul.   And then those people from the mainland showed up in their boat..

Lucio Fulci's Zombi 2 was, for it's time (and budget) the ultimate shocker and the first of many bandwagon films to follow the success of Romero's Dawn Of The Dead. It's also one of my fave movies.

I have a young niece and nephew who, for some odd reason, call me Uncle Zombie.  If zombies go out of style, what will they call me then? *SIGH*: Trevor, I suppose.

Hey, what's wrong with "Uncle Trevor"?  It has a nice ring to it. But, the name "Uncle Zombie" sounds pretty good too 

Anyhow,  being an uncle has certain privileges with it that other ranks don't. 

For one, you get to say yes to the things mom and dad don't want for the kids (like goodies and soda) and you get to NOT act your age around the kids and make them laugh doing things their moms would die of embarrassment from. 

So don't fret, the rank of uncle has a lot more power and poetic license than one might think.

I think the market is a wee bit oversaturated with zombies nowadays, but then again think how many more sparkly, glowy teen vampires we'd have to endure if the zombie movies weren't taking their place.

 Just take a little break form them maybe. Or check out some fo the older zombie movies, where the zombies are a result of evil voodoo magic. Someone already mentioned White Zombie, check it out, along with I walked with a Zombie and if Zombies on Broadway. Fido is a pretty good modern take on them too.

Yeah, really. Not to mention the main squeeze of the movie or series having to make a choice between the shadowy vampire or the hunky werewolf.  Or better yet, new this fall on CBS: Justin Bieber, Teen Vampire.  Whoa, better not give em' any ideas there...
