What is the dumbest thing you've seen in a movie that didn't even suck.

Example: Superman spinning the Earth backwards to reverse time in the first Superman film.

Superman 2, the earth shattering mind altering kiss he lays on Lois.  Ridiculous copout.

Toy Story triology is a major love of mine but there are discrepencies that I overlook a lot.  For example, how did the toys travel all the way back to the house in TS2 on a luggage carrier?  I hope they took a back road.

The ending of Machete comes to mind in my more recent viewings.

Yeah, that too.  Perhaps I forgave a lot in that movie due to General Zod being a total bad ass.

Star trek 2: When they detect the genesis device building up to explode, why not fire all enterprise's weapons to blow it and reliant up before the damn thing can build up to explode?

I'm not sure shooting it would make the situation better.
Possibly worse.

I think the way the brought Spock back to life in Star Trek III was dumber.

I always have to chuckle at Wrath of Khan when they're in the Mutara nebula and they can't tell where Khan's ship is because the sensors are all full of static.  Um, did you notice the Enterprise is covered in windows?  Nobody thought to look out one?  They're shown only being a mile or so away from each other - might have been helpful    :teddyr:

James Bond films have a lot of dumb moments.  Particularly the villains who instead of shooting Bond in the head plans an elaborate death and walk away.  Of course this is all part of the Bond awesomeness but still, its kind of silly.  I love when they parodied this in Austin Powers btw.

I think any situation where a villain has a chance to shoot the good guy in the head in doesn't is kind of stupid.  Good guys will always wear a flack jacket under their clothes.

The Untouchables - I've always loved this movie, but the bit on the rooftop when Frank Nitti tells Elliot Ness that his friend died screaming like a pig, then Ness pushes him over the edge and as Nitti is falling and screaming, he yells "did it sound anything like that?" I guess in some ways it's a clever bit but it has always annoyed me.

On a side note, the other thing about that scene that bugs me is that Elliot Ness never killed Frank Nitti. Frank Nitti went on to run the operation after Al Capone was sent to prison. Makes you wonder who it was Elliot Ness pushed over off a building or if it ever even happened. f**king Hollywood.
I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org

Or how about how they monologue to Bond when they could shoot him in the head?

A great parody of this is in The Incredibles.

*Raises finger and sends Mr. Incredible flying*
Syndrome: "Great..."

That was a mild inconvenience!   :teddyr:

I also like the prison break scene from that movie, where they have searchlights and guards in towers, and nobody notices this gigantic freaking balloon hovering 40 feet above the prison.  I mean it would have been at eye level for the tower guards, for god's sake.

Yes. This always drives me nuts when I watch the Bonds movies. When you have him dead to rights shoot him not reveal your evil scheme!
