There is a lot of talk in here about The Puppet Master and its sequels. I saw the original when it was initially released on video. I thought it was pretty silly and mostly boring, so I never bothered watching the sequels. Am I missing something? Should I try watching it again to see if I like it any better?

No, not really.  While I like the Puppet Master movies, if you didn't like the first movie chances are very high you won't like the others.  They are very much the same style of movie, although Puppet Master 2 does have a nice, nasty edge to it.

"Puppet Masters"is great.I definetly recomend watching it.

II & III are better, IMO.  For one, they don't use a stuffed dog like #I does.

#II gives a good shot of Charlie Spradling,  unfortunately she seems to have dropped off the radar screen.

If you see the other you will probably appreciate the first more. 3 is the best.

Who agrees that the Richard Lynch subplot twist was wonderfully inspired?  Blade's resemblence to Lynch (even in parts 1 and 2) was uncanny.

The first one has always been and will always will be my favorite, 2 and 3 are also worth seeing but after that I'm not too crazy for the series.  There's tons of plot holes through out the series (like the opening date in the first film-1939 if I remember and then in three which is set before it says its set in the 40's.) If you didn't like the first one though I doubt you'd dig the other ones also.
