Afghan Whigs album 1965. It was their last album in 1998. I've not heard much of their earlier albums, and knew almost nothing about them when I bought the CD around 2004 because I heard a couple of tracks on the headphones in Tower Records (I miss Tower Records). I hadn't seen or listened to it in a few years and found the CD in a box in storage. Very solid album. Soulful music, but tinged with just a little psychedelia. Very difficult to classify, which is probably why they didn't quite make the mainstream. Whoever produced this album also did a solid job, as the sound seems very straightforward and dry, yet very big at the same time. One of the things I love most about music is the constant rediscovering of things like this.

I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org

I've been rediscovering this album:

Ninety Day Men - To Everybody

Nice trippy hypnotic semi-prog rock. Some people call them prog rock, but they differ a little bit. They'll do some odd time-signature stuff, sure, but I don't know if I'd call them a full-blown prog rock band, in that they're not trying to impress with their instrumental prowess, it's all about the mood and the feel of the music.
